All dogs love treats, give sparingly as a reward for good behavior or for training. Fresh water should be available at all times. Toys and chews (puppies are teething) I sometimes put peanut butter or cheez wiz in the cracks of the rawhide to make it more inviting. Use single words or short phrases for training and commands ie: sit, stay, come, out, crate, treat, toy, etc. Give a treat when your puppy listens to you. CLEAN ALL PUPPY ACCIDENTS WITH VINEGAR TO ELIMINATE ODOR SO YOUR PUG PUPPY DOESN'T SMELL IT AND THINK IT'S OK TO GO BACK THERE. YOU CAN GO OVER WITH BETTER SMELLING STUFF IF YOU DON'T LIKE VINEGAR SMELL. Pugs love to retrieve toys, throw one around to give him/her some exercise. Shedding will be become a problem as the puppy grows into adult. Pugs have a thick (double coat.) Tips: Sticky rollers for clothes, couches, etc. Swiffer dry picks up all hair on hardwoods and tile. I shave my pugs to about 1/8th" in spring before they shed their winter coat (It's called BLOWING THEIR COAT) all over my house. After shaving they instantly stop shedding. They will be cooler for the summer too. I just use the hair shaver I bought for the family but they sell dog ones. Some pugs snore, this is normal. Some make a weird sneezing snort when overly excited, this is normal and will stop after a few minutes when calm. Check for ticks if your pug has been walking or playing in wooded areas. Have fun and be patient. Remember to be consistent and your dog will listen and learn, they want to please you.
